After getting her B.A. in English and minoring in Art, Carie moved to Suzhou, China where she taught for 5 years. Her experience as an IB PYP teacher made her passionate about concept-driven inquiry-based learning. She takes a student-centered approach to lessons and is always looking for fun and interesting ways to encourage her student’s natural curiosity and creative thinking skills.

Carie’s current focus is developing and teaching Creative Literacy, a blend of Arts and Literacy skills, to foster students love of reading and writing.
