Artspace Macon invites artists to submit work for The Space Between, a group exhibition exploring positive and negative space both visually and metaphorically.
Positive and negative space are fundamental elements of visual art, shaping how we see form, balance, and meaning. Beyond composition, the spaces between people, experiences, emotions, and moments can hold powerful significance.
In Recognition for Recovery Month, artists may explore healing, resilience, growth, transformation, connection, and the journey from struggle to renewal. Works can be personal, social, emotional, conceptual, or purely visual—direct recovery references not required.
We invite work that reflects on:
Presence and absence
Connection and isolation
Growth and loss
Transition and transformation
Silence and expression
The visible and invisible
Thresholds, pauses, and in-between moments
Positive and negative space in composition and design
All mediums are welcome, including painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, fiber, ceramics, sculpture, mixed media, and digital art.
