Shape of Grief:

A workshop on Grief Support, Art Therapy & Self Compassion

Workshop Overview

This workshop offers space for participants to honor grief as a natural response to love. Through art-making, reflection, and gentle facilitation, participants will explore the many ways grief takes shape — emotionally, symbolically, and creatively in a safe, supportive environment.

Rather than focusing on fixing or moving through grief, this workshop invites curiosity, expression, and presence with whatever arises.

What You’ll Experience:

  • A supportive space to reflect on and express grief through art

  • Guided, accessible art-making prompts to explore emotion and meaning

  • Opportunities for quiet reflection and shared presence in community

Participants are invited to create using materials that feel meaningful to them. We’ll provide a wide range of art supplies including paint, pastels, markers, collage materials, paper, glue, and scissors, along with optional symbolic materials such as fabric, thread, envelopes, and found imagery. Journals and pens will also be available, and participants are welcome to bring their own materials or personal items if they wish.
